Animations not working

Aloha!

So I finished a first draft of my site and have noticed throughout the process that animations in the theme aren’t working at all. When I try to use an animation for a single picture, for instance, the picture simply becomes hidden. This happens for all elements when trying to add an effect.

Could you shed light on the situation?
