Breadcrumbs not showing portfolio category

Hi there,
I am wanting to show the current portfolio category in my breadcrumbs, however, no matter what setting I make, in either the theme, or the permalinks I can’t seem to get it to appear. I have set the portfolio slug in the theme options to “product” and then updated the permalinks and that achieved what I wanted in regards to the initial part of the URL, however I then wanted to get the category followed by product name. Below is an example URL:

hand and body lotion M09 original

So, I wanted to get the category name between the “product” and “hand-and-body-lotion-m09-original” both in the URL and breadcrumbs.
Am I missing something? Any help much appreciated.
