Functioning of our Blog/Secondary Blog

Our main blog is found on this page (http://imagemakersadv.com/blog) while a secondary blog type is found on this page (http://imagemakersadv.com/news-awards). I say “secondary blog” b/c we want it to look just like the regular blog but act independently of the main one.

So blog 1 is the main one & shows categories 1, 2, 3, 4 & blog 2 is the secondary one & shows only category 5. I’ve tried to accomplish this with the use of your blog shortcodes but it’s not working 100% how I’d like it to.

The current shortcode I have on the Blog page is (still showing all posts):

We would like to exclude “news” blog posts from showing

The current shortcode I have on the News & Awards page is:
http://snippi.com/s/vehdjpe

So this pulls just the “News” posts & that is working fine but we want the featured image to be pulled in & have it look just like the main blog page.
