    Server Settings

Usually the demo import takes 5 to 10 minutes depending on the server speed & ram. If it loads forever this is 100% due to the server configuration or a security setting that does not allow to import content to your server. In this case you should contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase those limits to aminimum as follows:

    • max_execution_time 900
    • max_input_time 600
    • memory_limit 256M
    • post_max_size 64M
    • upload_max_filesize 64M
    • max_input_vars 3000
    • allow_url_fopen on

How to verify your current server settings

To check out your PHP configuration limits you can install the following pluginhttps://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-php-info/ . After the installation of the plugin go to “Settings > WordPress phpinfo()” and search for the values above. In addition, you can always contact your host and ask them for your current settings are and have them adjust them if needed. If your hosting service will not let you, or are unresponsive, it may be time to find hosting elsewhere.

There is no reason for your hosting provider to keep those settings low and therefore you should get your money’s worth.

Please also note, although you might have increased the PHP values to the minimum limits, this does not mean that your server has enough capacity for it. Your hosting provider can give you more informations about that.

    Manual Import

If the automatic import fails you can also manually import the demo content. For this import method you would also need to increase the server settings to the above minimums. Now follow these steps:

    1. The XML file is included to theme files. It is named content.xml and located in the theme folder under /framework/inc/demoimporter/demo-files/
    2. Navigate to WP Admin > Tools > Import
    3. Select and install WordPress importer
    4. Once its installed, select the XML file and upload it. It will take a few minutes to install and upload all content
    5. Now navigate to WP Admin > Appearance > Menus page and set menus to the appropriate locations

Please leave the “Download and import file attachements” checkbox DISABLED, most likely your hosting provider does not allow importing images & files from foreign servers. There might be some “Failed to import” messages but that is totally fine.

    Import Revolution Slider Demos

If you want to import the Demo Revolution Sliders you can also find them in the theme folder under /framework/inc/demoimporter/demo-files/. The demo slides have a ”.zip” ending.
