Update Plugins

Hello, I am getting notifications that updates are available for the “Slider Revolution” and “WPBakery Visual Composer” plugins. I want to be able to update, but it looks like I am going to have to pay for them. Why do I have to pay for them after paying for this theme? Is there any way around this?

More importantly, if I chose not to buy the premium versions of these plugins then I won’t ever get any updates. If I upgrade to the latest version of WordPress (in one or more years) and the old versions of the plugins aren’t compatible with the newest version of WordPress then will they break?
