How to tweak theme colors and other elements

Hi Guys,

I am trying to change the theme colors as well as HR styles…
I thought I found the correct files by ftp’ing to my WP site.
I made changes to wp-content\themes\inovado\framework\css\headers.css to change the color of header-v2, but nothing happens on my site.
I’ve also made changes to wp-content\themes\inovado\framework\css\shortcodes.css to modify the hr style 3, but nothing happens.
I’ve also tried to make changes to styles.css (within WordPress editor) and nothing happens… the changes I made to the ThemeFooter in the WP editor DO appear.

I’m am new to WordPress… am I modifying the correct files? Or am I going about this the wrong way?
