Initial Contact Form Setup

I’m having trouble getting the contact form to send an email. Error received: Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.

I installed WP Mail SMTP & successfully set it up with Google. Test email was sent successfully. When I submit from the Contact Form, I receive the error message above. Is there some additional step needed to connect the Contact Form with the SMTP setting?

Possibly related issue, the theme page that I’m using uses [contact-form-7 id="327"] but that ID isn’t present when I go to the Contact/Contact Forms menu in WP. I had assumed that I needed to configure that ID to use my email configuration. Is that right? Why wouldn’t that ID be present in the list?
